“There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance” Ophelia, Hamlet
In a Winter Window
Sunlight on the rosemary
its stems raised in praise
to early morning January sky
such an optimistic plant
each spine a fragrant Fuller Brush
perhaps today the perfect tool
to loosen the coat of sorrow
that wraps around my heart
I inhale for remembrance
hopeful, green and sweet
